As the 2019-2020 youth wrestling season ramps up, we look back at the 2018-2019 season. One of the top youth wrestlers in NY State, Elijah Berry (American Top Team), finished the 2018-2019 season with the most NY Top 100 Championships for that season. Elijah had an impressive 9 NY Top 100 Championships in 2018-2019. This is the second season in a row where Elijah finished the season with the most NY Top 100 Championships. During the 2017-2018 season Elijah set a record with the most ever NY Top 100 Championships in a single season with 11*.
Elijah won the following 2018-2019 NY Top 100 Championships: the 2018 Black Saturday Mall Brawl, the 13th Annual Winter Warm-Up, the 10th Annual Batavia ‘Little Devils Youth Tournament, the 2018 Battle Of The Thrones, the 2019 Lockport Kids Wrestling Tournament, the 2019 Chenango Forks Blue Devil Youth Tournament, The 2019 Rush Henrietta Wrestle Fest III, The 2019 Watertown Winter Games, The 2019 Camden Youth Wrestling Tournament.
Elijah might be the best pound for pound wrestler in NY State (and beyond). Elijah is a 3 time NYWAY Central Regional Champion and NYWAY State Champion (2017, 2018, 2019). Elijah is one of only 7 wrestlers to win the 2019 NYWAY Triple Crown. Elijah is also one of the best wrestlers on the national stage. His NUWAY National titles include: the 2018 NUWAY National Champion, the 2018 NUWAY Summer National Champion, the 2018 NUWAY Revolution Champion, the 2019 NUWAY Southern Throne Champion, and the 2019 NUWAY Summer National Champion.
Elijah hit the 500 win mark at only 7 years old. He hit this incredible achievement (at such a young age) at The Spaz Summer Duals in Marlton, NJ on June 9th, 2019.
